The uber realistic bird kite!

Posted by: Brandon In: Toys and Projects

I saw one of these in Sedona, Arizona last month and it blew me away. It’s a kite made of Vytek or some CSI type clothing material which is rain resistant. I bought a Seagull and also a Canadian Snow Goose. Easy to setup and I purchased a 42′ pole for the kite to get it way up high above my house.

Other birds come at it and it is super realistic,
check out the video I shot of it!

How cool is this? My TV at work!

Posted by: Brandon In: Toys and Projects

At work I can access my Slingbox which is connected to my home Satellite system. I can watch my home TV anytime and even change the channels, access my recorded content, all remotely! The Slingbox is about $150 and works great! They even have a mobile application you can download to your Nokia phone to watch TV on it as well. The image shows CNN but I keep it on the G4 channel which broadcasts video game shows and industry news. The other cool thing is I can watch my home TV when I’m travelling for work, I simply plug my laptop into the hotel room plasma screen and bingo I have my “own” media to watch!

Here is a pic of it working on the second monitor at my work desk:

Crappy EA support = Buy new wireless Les Paul

Posted by: Brandon In: Video Games

Original Rock Band guitar, first production run I guess, early adopter… strum bar breaks and the spring is toast. Open it up, try to fix, instead EA has setup a dedicated support page for the thousands of guitars breaking I assume since somebody at the Chinese factory dropped the ball on quality assurance…

I complete the online form, give them my credit card number, wait for replacement…. weeks go by…. contact them <surprise> they lost my RMA #…

Weekend was coming, needed to have the complete band instruments working so grabbed a Wireless Les Paul from Future Shop, way better quality and even included another copy of Guitar Hero 3… give that away, and crank it out…

I never did get the replacement with the box they were going to provide. I wanted to send them the old guitar and package it up… never happened because my online form I guess never went through :)

Raccoons getting busy in the bushes

Posted by: Brandon In: Things I Experience

It appears that 2 raccoons decided to pro-create in the Kingdom of Fun bushes. The larger male (on top) growled at me and feinted a bite but I kept my distance and recorded this live breaking news story. The sounds they made (both of them) were like a drunk chipmunk sound but in a giddy tone.

Based on the day this picture was taken I would estimate the young one will be born next month (65 days of pregnancy, encyclopedia stat online).

Moon Sand is magical and worth it

Posted by: Brandon In: Toys and Projects

Ok this stuff just rocks… I saw it at a craft convention in Anaheim and they had some crazy sculptures. This sand doesn’t dry out, can be cut and molded, it’s solid and even includes a carrying bag which is inflated and has velcro wraps for storage… Sick product, under $30… get tons of colors, this substance is awesome!

Here is a Celtic medieval castle I made which is ready for explosive charges on each of the 4 corner towers…

Castle, animal, spade, all kinda tools included!

About

Of course this is an example of where you can write your bio and stuff and you need to type text here for that because the longer you wait to edit this than the more you procrastinate!
